百年老树 Bainian Laoshu

Selected Low Stock

Bainian Laoshu means 'Hundred-Year-Old Tree' — ripe pu-erh made from ancient arbor (gushu) material harvested in Yunnan's mountains and pressed in 2022. Certified organic by CCIV, Yunnan's own independent tea authority, which means no synthetic inputs at any stage: no pesticides, no chemical fertiliser, verified from field to finished cake. What makes old-tree material different in ripe pu-erh? Gushu roots reach deep into the mountain soil, pulling mineral content and natural sugars that plantation-grown bushes simply cannot access. The result shows in the cup: a natural body and density that no fermentation technique alone can produce, a deeper sweetness, and a complexity that keeps unfolding across many steeps. Plantation shu often gives five or six infusions before dropping off — this tea reliably brews twelve or more. The 2022 pressing is dark and glossy, leaves compressed tightly in the traditional qizi bing format. In the cup: dark chocolate, dried figs, warm earthiness, and a faint smoky note that clears by the third steep to reveal a clean natural sweetness. Mouthfeel is noticeably thicker than standard Menghai factory output. Worldwide delivery.
