茶道六君子 Cha Dao — 6-Piece Tool Set
The cha dao set (茶道六君子, 'six gentlemen of the tea ceremony') is the group of small tools that lives in a holder on the tea tray during gongfu brewing. Each has a specific job; together they keep the tea space orderly and the brewing precise. Six pieces: the cha ze (茶則, scoop) measures and transfers dry leaf from the caddy to the gaiwan without touching the leaf with your hands. The cha zhen (茶針, needle) unblocks the filter or spout of a clay teapot. The cha jia (茶夾, tongs) lifts and rinses small hot cups safely. The cha bo (茶漏, funnel) sits in the opening of a small teapot mouth. The cha sao (茶掃, brush) sweeps loose leaf and moisture off the tea tray surface. All six sit in a cylindrical holder — bamboo or ceramic. The Bamboo set is natural, lightweight and ages gracefully. The Ceramic holder version has a heavier feel and more visual presence.
