The Reserve is Da Hong Pao (大红袍) from Wuyi Star's finest single-origin micro-terroir plots inside the Wuyi Scenic Area — the most tightly protected parcels in the Zhengyan zone, where the geology, elevation and airflow combine to produce the most concentrated mineral character in the region. The leaf is hand-finished with a deep traditional charcoal roast — darker and slower than the Premium — which draws out concentrated yan yun (岩韻) and builds a complexity that unfolds over a long session. This is not an everyday drinker; it is a collector's tea. In the cup: dark fruit, roasted orchid, cocoa and sandalwood in the aromatics; a deep, cooling mineral finish that builds across ten-plus infusions without hollowing out. - 1. Place 5–6 g of rock oolong in a 100 ml gaiwan or Yixing pot.
- 2. Rinse once with 95°C water and discard.
- 3. Short 8–12 s steeps, extending gradually each round.
- 4. Good for 8–10 infusions. Western: 3 g per 250 ml, 95°C, 3 min.
