Can I store tea in the fridge?
I have a sealed bag of green tea — would the fridge keep it fresh longer?
For green tea and matcha — yes, vacuum-sealed and refrigerated extends freshness by months. Let it warm to room temperature for 24 hours BEFORE opening, or condensation will ruin the leaves. For oolong, black tea, white tea, and pu-erh — never refrigerate. Pu-erh especially needs airflow and stable warm humidity to age properly; cold kills it. The fridge is also full of food smells that tea absorbs. Default rule: only refrigerate green/matcha, and only if sealed.
